The first step to making the most of your coffee break is to actually take it! Most of us are tight on time and all too aware of pressing deadlines at work, but taking a few minutes out to refuel and recalibrate your brain often means you’ll be more productive when you get back to your task. Find a space away from your desk to distance yourself, whether that’s in the kitchen, the cafeteria or even an empty meeting room.

If you’re an introvert, take yourself off to a quiet spot to relax for a few minutes, or if you’re more extroverted and gain energy from being around others, take your break at the same time as a couple of colleagues you can have a good chat with, or maybe make a quick phone call to a friend or relative.
