Our customers have given us a 9/10 rating. To celebrate National Customer Service Week we have come up with some top tips for outstanding customer service.

1.      Customer service starts with your employees

2.     Quality over quantity

While your customers may want a quick response, it’s important to avoid sacrificing a quality service for the sake of a quick fix. Take the time to listen to your customers to ensure you understand exactly what they want in order to fully meet your customer’s needs.

3.     Timely

Having said that, time is still important. Respond to your customer’s requests immediately, even if it’s just an acknowledgement. Throughout the process keep them updated with a timeline.

4.    Do what you say you’ll do

Tell your customers what you are going to do and when you are going to do it. If you are unable to do it on time for any reason, let them know.

5.     Be honest

If there’s something you do not know then admit it. A customer will be able tell if you are bluffing. Tell them that you do not know and that you will find out.

6.     Confirm customer satisfaction

At the end of any customer interaction confirm that they are happy with the result and ask if you can be of any further assistance. This gives a clear message to your customers that you care about getting things right.

7.     Customer experience

Improve your customer’s experience by making them feel important. Greet them warmly and with a smile. Remember their name and use it. Be genuinely interested in them. Offer them a cup of luxurious bean to cup coffee.
