Customer insight had shown that providing free drinks encouraged customers to stay longer, purchase more, and return more frequently, reinforcing loyalty in a highly competitive sector.
While this approach was already in place, the business identified a clear opportunity to improve the quality and consistency of the experience being delivered. Initial discussions began at head office level, where STARK UK was looking to address challenges with coffee quality and ensure staff had access to reliable, high-quality hydration. Following a successful refreshment upgrade at head office, the team recognised the potential to replicate this improved experience across customer-facing environments nationwide.
Why the K2 & L4 Were Selected
As part of the consultation process, a range of refreshment options was explored to understand what would work best in fast-paced trades environments. Key requirements included ease of use, durability, consistent drink quality and a professional appearance suitable for customer-facing spaces.
The K2 bean to cup coffee machine was selected as the preferred option based on these requirements. It delivers consistently high-quality coffee with intuitive operation, making it easy for both staff and customers to use while maintaining a premium feel at the trade counter. Alongside this, L4 water coolers were chosen to support effective hydration, offering a simple, reliable solution that fits seamlessly into busy store environments.
Together, these solutions provided a noticeable step up in quality while remaining practical for everyday use.

With Jewson branches located across the UK, STARK UK needed more than just equipment, they needed a refreshment partner capable of supporting at a national level. This included comprehensive servicing and maintenance support, alongside a locked-down consumables price list and access to our online My Account Portal. This approach allows STARK UK to maintain control over quality, cost, and brand standards while ensuring every Jewson branch delivers the same high-quality refreshment experience.
