Water machines offer an eco-friendly and economical way to drink more water.

If your workforce is particularly thirsty for tea and coffee, then a hot water tap can save significant time standing around waiting for the kettle to boil. They are also much more energy efficient, which can reduce your electricity bill and your carbon footprint.

If you’re currently purchasing bottled water, then by installing a mains-fed cooler, you can expect to see significant savings over time.

The energy consumption of your water dispenser will depend on the make, model and how it is used.  As a rule of thumb, hot water dispensers are often much more energy efficient than using a kettle, especially in busy areas such as offices where demand is high. Whilst most modern water coolers are fitted with energy-saving technology such as a sleep mode, which puts the machine on standby when nobody has used the machine for a while.

Cleaning your water cooler regularly is essential for ensuring a safe and hygienic workplace. Maintaining the hygiene of your commercial water dispenser will also ensure your water remains pure at all times.

Daily surface cleaning of your water cleaner is required to prevent a build-up of dirt and bacteria and we also recommend taking the machine apart and sanitising regularly every 3 months.

Unplug the water cooler and remove the water bottle. Ensure you are away from any electronic points to prevent any accidents, so you may wish to move the machine away from the power supply. Using an appropriate non-abrasive, food-safe, sanitising cleaner and warm water, flush through the machine by pouring into the inner reservoir and draining via the tap. Repeat several times to ensure it is fully cleaned. Lift out the drip tray and scrub well under a running tap. Finally, wipe down the full machine with a clean cloth before installing a new bottle and plugging it back into the mains.
