Boiling, Chilled and Sparkling Water Tap

A boiling, chilled and sparkling water tap comes with many different benefits including:

  • Eliminate the need for carbon intensive bottled water, whether individually bottled or from a large bottled water cooler.
  • Improve the productivity of your team by minimising downtime waiting for the kettle to boil.
  • Reduce electricity consumption by replacing a bottled water cooler and kettle with a single, more energy efficient commercial boiling water tap.

Instant hot and cold water taps are also extremely easy to operate, simply turn the handle to dispense fresh chilled drinking water or boiling water for unlimited hot drinks and even instant soups, noodle and pasta dishes.

For those looking to reduce common touch points within the office, creating a safer, more hygienic workspace, Liquidline has partnered with Zip to offer their innovative Zip Hydrotap Touch Free Wave. The Wave uses infrared technology that allows you to place your hand over a sensor to dispense boiling, chilled or sparkling drinking water instantly.

An instant hot and cold water dispenser tap is also the latest must-have for any commercial catering kitchen, saving time, energy and space in busy environments.

Choosing the Right Boiling Water Tap for Your Business

Types of water

Firstly, consider whether you’d like exclusively a commercial boiling water tap, chilled water tap, or if you’d like a combination tap that produces boiling, chilled and sparkling water.

Demand and volume

Next you’ll need to look at the number of staff (users) your new tap will be catering for. Depending on the make and model of tap, some provide boiling and chilled water for up to 20 users, whilst others can cater for up to 100 people.

If you have a very large office with many team members we often recommend having two or more smaller capacity taps installed. Not only because this prevents bottle necks at the water cooler at busy times of day, but it also means you have a back up in the rare event one of the systems breaks down.

Placement & space

Consider where you would like your hot and cold water dispenser tap to be located. Different models have different footprints. Billi is one of the leading brands of drinking water dispenser taps because its undercounter system is so compact.

Design of tap

Billi taps feature a  fluid, simple design that is easy to operate and blends in well in a modern kitchen. For something more extravagant, the Borg and Overstrom taps are more striking and have a great visual style about them. Depending on your space and requirements, we can recommend the best fit to ensure the tap fits seamlessly into your kitchen space.

How does a hot and cold water dispenser work?

In a commercial boiling water tap, water is first passed from a mains water supply through carbon filters to eliminate any impurities. The water will then flow through a heating element (not that dissimilar from the heating element in your kettle) where it is heated to approximately 95°c, the ideal temperature for preparing tea and coffee, but also to kill off any remaining germs or microorganisms in the water.

Chilled water is also passed through carbon filters, before entering a UV light chamber to make it safe for consumption. After filtration, the water will then be chilled using either vapour compression or thermoelectric cooling.

If your boiling and chilled water tap also has an option for sparkling water, then carbon dioxide will be added to the chilled water before it is dispensed.
