The Cambridge Culinary Competition, we could not have chosen a better place to launch our fantastic rebranded Café Bonté brand!

With three contestants from two colleges battling it out to achieve the perfect coffee at the Cambridge Culinary Competition, we could not have chosen a better place to launch our fantastic rebranded Café Bonté brand!
Lee Corke, Chairman of the 2015 University of Cambridge Culinary Competition Committee claimed that the event was “bigger and better than ever” this year. We are inclined to agree, as the talents of the chefs, waiters, baristas and many others who work within the busy college were show-cased in the two day event on the 18th and 19th of February, hosted by Cambridge Regional College (CRC)
The Barista Skills Competition was fittingly the first contest of the entire competition, beginning at 10am on the Wednesday. Several colleges attended the event, as three contestants were made to show off their skills; from mastering the simple cappuccino, to trickier speciality drinks, they were judged on their ability to produce three perfect coffees. If the aroma of the competitors’ coffee gave you a craving for some of your own, our coffee pod was on hand to treat the public to sample some of our wonderful coffee, and become the first members of the public to experience the new Café Bonté!
Our Managing Director Gavin Pooley was chosen to judge at the competition, tasked with analysing the technical skills of the baristas – his clear expertise in creating the perfect coffee proving key in choosing the deserving contestant.
Magdalena Wright from Fitzwilliam College emerged the winner, proving herself a truly skilled barista, working well under pressure and managing to impress the expert judges!
Liquidline is proud to sponsor the Barista Skills Competition, and we are happy to continue to show our support to the Cambridge colleges, as well as sharing our love of coffee with people equally passionate and committed. If you feel like having your own perfect coffee, why not try Café Bonté – our new rebrand only reflects the quality of the coffee inside!
